Perenda Isom, with her 30 years of experience in education, has had the privilege of working with a wide range of children, including those with general education, giftedness, behavioral/emotional disorder, autism spectrum disorder, down syndrome, and cerebral palsy. Her expertise lies in creating effective strategies and techniques to meet the diverse needs of all children. Her passion for teaching and meeting the needs of her students has led her to focus on community collaboration, which in turn has inspired her to take on community leadership roles. She was the founder and director of the Camden Perkette Panthers Cheerleading program from 2003 - 2015 and is presently the director and founder of The Wonderful World of Autism. These programs, designed to uplift and support Camden Cities youth and families with special needs or who need a social outlet, are a testament to her leadership. Perenda Isom earned her Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education from Lincoln University in 1989 and her Special Education Certification in 2003. She is currently continuing her education in Special Education at Rowan University and is in the process of writing a handbook titled Parenting The Special Child.
